Pre-hospital care is a vital component of our EMS system and a dynamic field of medicine. Our pre-hospital emergency care system matches the needs of the patients to the available resources so that optimal, prompt and cost-effective care can be offered.

Trauma & Burn is highly invested in the pre-hospital care at Cook County Health and the City of Chicago. We currently serve as training sites for Navy Corpsmen, the Malcom X Paramedic Program, and EMT-B and EMT-P.

Beyond our role as a training site, we offer several public courses aimed at improving the outcomes of our patients though pre-hospital care. We encourage all emergency service personnel to consider these programs or certifications.

Visit our Courses page for more information and scheduling. If you have additional questions, please contact our Education Coordinator or Trauma Manager.
